Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.

In this session, we will be covering how to better understand Architecture photography and we'll be looking at ways to take some impressive shots and the camera settings to use.

Taking place in the deansgate area, we will move into castlefield and bring focus to the industrial architecture of victorian manchester. We will be using the formal elements of photography as a guideline so look out for an email a few days before the event with some further information on this.

The oil painting size A2 is of two climbers, Kieran (yellow) and Josh (blue) the main reference photo I worked from was taken by British Expedition leader Alex Frood, who gave permission to paint this incredible scene.Kieran is attempting to refit a crampon onto the boot of the less experienced Josh during a mountain adventure during a Scottish winter.

Title or Location: Village Life
The artwork oil on panel size 12" x 9" was created in 2021. The scene is of my home village of Romiley and the popular coffee shop of ?No 29? where a print of the original hangs. The home of the original itself is just around the corner. The biggest challenge for me was to portray chrome chairs on the street. But it was a delight painting strong light and shade, something the villagers don't see enough.

This is a collage which I painted in 2019 following a trip to Thailand which my husband and I took that summer to visit some asylum seekers who we have come to know.It is called ?Hidden in Plain Sight? since one of the people in the painting is an asylum seeker, viewed from behind. The asylum seekers who we were visiting had fled their home country due to severe persecution. They had travelled to Thailand on a tourist visa. When their visa expired they ?slipped underground?. This happened over

Title or Location: Winter white
This painting depict a garden of winter white blooms. Soft edges and beautiful greens makes it comforting. Coming out of my imagination, as I don't have a garden of winter beauty only desert dryness. I find joy in these blooms of winter white. I hope the beholder of this painting feels the tranquility of it.

Title or Location: Grangemouth oil refinery
It was a day out at Culross a very picturesque historic town in Fife. Because of the olde ye appearance it has featured in the TV series Outlander and the film of the book Kidnapped written by Robert Louis Stevenson?s. The whole place is photogenic. I had a thought about all the artists and photographers that have graced the its streets and it must be in thousands. I wonder how many have ever produced a rendering of the oil refinery on the other bank of the Forth.
